OME leaf springs are offered in in different versions for most vehicles in order to meet the different requirements due to different engines and additional weights due to retrofitted accessories. However, it is not only the number of spring layers that is important, but also the material used, the thickness and the bending of the individual layers. In addition, layers can be removed or added to almost any leaf spring. Additional, individual fine tuning is possible by adding or removing polyurethane friction washers and spacers to increase or decrease the inherent friction of the spring.However, all OME leaf springs have the following characteristics: Flattened at the point of contact with the axle; for a clean contact and reduced stress on the spring and U-bolt Wedge- and trapezoidal-shaped ends of the spring layers; for better response and reduced risk of breakage at the highly stressed end tips Lubricatable friction washers, also improves response and noise Replaceable nylon slider bars on the guide brackets to reduce friction and noise All spring layers are shot-peened prior to assembly to reduce surface tension and densify material for longer life After assembly, all spring assemblies are "set" to full load and tested for their desired spring rate

The OME Nitrocharger + is the next evolution in the traditional Nitrocharger family, replacing the proven Nitrocharger Sport and the remaining Nitrocharger models. It retains the time-tested twin-tube design, known for its durability in off- road conditions, as well as the 3-valve technology, featuring a dual-acting piston valve and an additional compression valve at the lower end of the working cylinder, delivering a smooth and progressively responsive performance. However, by shifting the production location, many details have been improved, which is reflected in the "plus" in the name. Most shock absorbers now benefit from a larger 58mm body, allowing for increased oil volume and better heat dissipation. This, in turn, accommodates a 20mm piston rod that enables more precise guidance and improves sealing through a newly optimized triple-lip seal. The larger body also allows for an increase in piston diameter to 36mm, enhancing responsiveness and oil flow, which contributes to lower operating temperatures. The second new housing size features a 50mm diameter, an 18mm piston rod, and also a 36mm piston. It replaces the smaller 44mm Nitrocharger models with the 12.5mm piston rod and is intended for applications where the larger 58mm body cannot be used due to space constraints. Another new feature is the material used for the stone guard. It is now unbreakable and softer, preventing scratches on the paintwork during full suspension articulation. The paint finish itself has also been upgraded with a multi-layer coating, improving both aesthetics and corrosion protection. In the coilover versions of the Nitrocharger + and MT64, the modified, height-adjustable spring seats are the innovative new feature. Both the 50mm and the 58/72mm spring seats feature proprietary OME designs and must be used exclusively with the corresponding OME springs. Thanks to these two universal spring seats, OME can now respond much more quickly to new vehicle models, as there is no longer a need to search for or custom-make special spring seats, which also helps reduce costs. The ability to adjust height also reduces the number of different springs required for varying weights within a vehicle series. In addition, it allows for better compensation during installation for weight differences between the left and right side or for accessories added later. Different springs are not necessarily required for this purpose.
